- Zest from any type of citrus
Cut the zest off the citrus fruit using a vegetable peeler to make long strips, leaving the white pith on the fruit.
Place the strips on a tray lined with baking paper and bake until going curly and crisp. 130°C for about 40-60mins.
Cool – then blend in a spice grinder to form a powder – coarse or fine as liked. Store in an airtight jar.
*Use whenever you want an extra burst of citrus flavour – Great on or mixed into ice cream, whipped coconut cream, custard, sauces, choc mousse, frostings, fresh fruit, or in tea, coffee or smoothies! You can also put into cake batters, pancakes, cookies ect for extra flavour. Also sprinkle on desserts for a decorative effect.*
